We are looking for a caring and reliable Early Years Assistant to join our friendly setting.

🕘 Hours: 8:00am–4:00pm Monday to Friday

📅 Term time only

You will support young children in a warm and welcoming environment, supporting learning and development. 

Experience with children is preferred, but not essential. 

We are looking for someone who: 

• Enjoys working with children

• Is reliable and positive

• Has good communication skills

• Is willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check.

Training will be provided.

30 Hours Education Grant funded hours for 3 and 4-year-olds

Up to 30 hours of free childcare for working parents!

All 3 and 4 year-  olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare and education for the equivalent of 38 weeks per year from the term after their third birthday. The additional hours can be taken out of term time. Be aware! If your employment status changes you may lose the additional 15 hours funding.

Michelle Initially established First Steps Day Care as a nursery in 2006, she continues to support children and families in the local area as a registered childminder since July 2025.

We are open for 38 weeks of the year excluding bank holidays. Operating from Michelle’s home the setting benefits from a safe and secure garden as well as a 2 classrooms and a sheltered play room, these areas are exclusively used for the children. The setting adapts its learning environment to meet the growing needs of the children. 

The setting welcomes and serves a diverse community, supporting families from all faiths and backgrounds. We work closely with Brent Council to ensure families can access childcare places.

The staff are passionate about working with young children and Michelle remains committed to raising standards in early years education and promoting an awareness of the importance of learning through play in early years.

We remain focused on providing high-quality care and education and do everything we can to meet the needs of your child. With a variety of sessions to choose from, we’re confident you will find something that suits your family’s requirements.
